It is a pleasure to write a recommendation on behalf of Chuck Herman and the Health and Fitness Equipment Center. My name is Gary VanCauwenberge and I am the head women’s volleyball and softball coach at Lake Erie College. Lake Erie opened the doors of its 9.5 million dollar health and wellness center in August of 2004 and I was fortunate enough to be in charge of the entire fitness center.

However, it was October of 2003 when Chuck and I first got together and I was impressed with him from the very onset. Chuck knew that I had a Master’s degree in exercise science and that I was not looking for a sales pitch. I wanted a quality product at an affordable price, and I wanted a company with a strong track record with a salesman whose knowledge and camaraderie went beyond their catalogue. He understood my goals and knew exactly what I wanted.

Chuck drove me around to several local organizations who carried the Nautilus equipment I was interested in. I got the chance to ask everyone I met all the questions I needed answered. Countless conversations, diagrams, and estimates occupied the next 10 months. At times it appeared as though he was more interested in satisfying my needs and making Lake Erie College a premier facility than he was in selling his products. The equipment even arrived unexpectedly ahead of schedule and after a quick phone call, Chuck was here making sure all went according to plan.

Today, we have been using the equipment for over two years and it still works perfectly and looks just as exquisite as did when it arrived. It is for these aforementioned reasons that I highly recommend Chuck Herman and the Nautilus equipment supplied by the Health and Fitness Equipment Center. Our fitness center quickly became the highlight of our campus and we proudly showcase it to all who visit.

Health and Fitness has made our exercise room at the Oakwood Club a great place to work out! Recently, I had the privilege of working with Health and Fitness Equipment Center located in Mayfield, Ohio. Our Lake County West End Branch YMCA overhauled the entire weight room in the fall of 2006.

The project was volunteer-board driven with the help of several full-time YMCA directors. The meetings began in the winter of 2005 and continued through until completion of the project. With the help of Charles Herman (Health and Fitness), the board was able to see samples of weights that were considered and ask questions pertinent to the project. Mr. Herman’s accessibility and patience proved to be a valuable resource for our group.

When the day of delivery arrived, the employees from Health and Fitness were here to assemble all the new equipment. They were professional and knowledgeable with setting up the equipment, knowing exactly where and how each piece fit together. In addition, their offers to help carry and organize the equipment inside was met with a grateful response.
